Registered Nurse - Vascular Operating Room - RN

Mayo Clinic•Jacksonville, FL
•Onsite

About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Vascular Operating Room circulates and coordinates the surgical team across operating room activities to provide optimum perioperative nursing care. The RN may also be asked to scrub as needed and serves as the patient's advocate. Mayo Clinic's Jacksonville hospital has 34 operating rooms, including an IMRI OR suite and a dedicated endovascular OR suite, and uses modern equipment and advanced technologies. The RN coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. The role supports professional nursing practice across settings and throughout the continuum of care. Within the Mayo Nursing Care Model, the RN plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates all phases of nursing care for assigned patients, using the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice as a basis for practice. The RN provides leadership through precepting, formal and informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and available resources. The role also involves mentoring and teaching, and may include participation on committees or projects. The position is eligible for TN sponsorship; successful sponsorship requires state licensure and completion of VisaScreen or equivalent certification. Applicants without operating room experience may consider Mayo Clinic in Florida's Periop 101 program. The upcoming cohort is expected in early/mid 2027; an informational forum is available through the link in the posting.
