About The Position

WakeMed is hiring a Clinical Nurse to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in a collaborative clinical environment. The nurse delivers care tailored to the needs of patients and families while supporting high standards of professional nursing practice. Care is guided by patient assessments, care plans, and physician orders, and includes assessment of physical, psychological, and social needs, patient and family education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and application of WakeMed’s Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model. The position requires an RN license and a nursing diploma or associate degree. No prior experience is required. WakeMed’s nursing career ladder ranges from RN I to RN IV depending on education and experience.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
A nursing diploma or associate degree in nursing is required.
No experience is required.
Understanding of nursing standards, including the ANA Scope and Standards and the North Carolina Board of Nursing Practice Act.
Effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and care teams.
Commitment to patient- and family-centered care, clinical excellence, and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care based on patient assessments, care plans, and physician orders.
Assess patient needs across physical, psychological, and social factors to guide care delivery.
Deliver patient and family education to support understanding and participation in care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
Apply WakeMed’s Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model in all aspects of care delivery.
