About The Position

Sentara Health is currently hiring Registered Nurses for their Mixed-Med Surg/IMC/Stroke Unit at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role involves performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will also focus on coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and demonstrating professional performance in ethics, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. The position requires clinical knowledge and skills to meet specific clinical area standards and any specialty requirements.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or Diploma in Nursing, or Master’s Degree in Nursing
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State RN License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• Utilize the standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation).
• Adhere to the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).
• Apply clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
• Meet and maintain any requirements defined by specific specialty.
