About The Position
This position assists the Director of Nursing Services in overseeing the health care of children, educating staff and clients on health matters, and providing emergency medical oversight. The role involves maintaining infection control, employee health, and monitoring staff in their healthcare responsibilities. The Registered Nurse will also support the Director in other assigned healthcare-related duties for clients and staff.
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse with a valid Louisiana license.
- Two years of experience preferred in working with an adolescent population.
- Fundamental love for children and a desire to be an agent for change in their lives.
- Strong sense of personal authority, maturity, and integrity for an influential and authoritarian role with youth and staff.
- Strong, positive interpersonal skills to work with youth and staff.
- Strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work under the supervision of the Director of Health Care Services.
- Willingness to commit to significant job responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational, teaching, and leadership skills.
- Ability to function effectively as a team member of the professional staff with a focus on problem-solving and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services in the screening and oversight of the health care of all children assigned to their care.
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services in education and training of staff and clients as directed in health care issues, policies, and procedures.
- Provide emergency oversight of medical services as needed for clients and staff.
- Assist as directed in the maintenance of systems and processes related to health care functions to include infection control, employee health, and other areas as assigned.
- Maintain a high standard of personal and interpersonal functioning in job performance.
- Monitor Child Care staff in the performances of their health care responsibilities.
- Assist the Director of Nursing in other duties as assigned in areas related to the provisions of health care for clients and staff.
