Registered Nurse - SNF -Independence
About The Position
Sunterra Springs Independence is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver care to a group of residents in a nursing unit. The role includes assessing resident needs, developing individual care plans, administering nursing care, and supervising Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other personnel involved in care delivery. The facility provides physical, occupational, and nursing rehabilitation. The position involves caring for approximately 19 patients and may include IVs, wound care, assessments, admissions, discharges, and medication administration. Two CNAs are assigned, and nursing management is available for support. The work is described as fast-paced. Requirements
- Current, unrestricted, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Missouri or the practicing state.
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current CPR certification.
- Clinical assessment skills sufficient to meet the job requirements.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with an interdisciplinary care team.
- Basic understanding of computer technology, including email.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Decision-making and analytical skills.
- Ability to work positively and cooperatively with employees, residents, family members, and personnel from outside agencies and organizations.
- Positive attitude and desire to work with the aging population.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in long-term care is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
