About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Health HEB will deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This role involves assessing patients, planning care, intervening appropriately, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, and incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures. The nurse will also initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others' needs for information and maintain continuity of patient care between shifts, hospitals, and during transfers. The ICU department is an 18-bed Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit specializing in Trauma and Neurosurgical patient care, offering opportunities for professional growth, career development, and outstanding support. It is a fast-paced, high-acuity unit with 24/7 Intensivist coverage providing exceptional pulmonary critical care patient oversight. Great nurse/doctor collaboration is a key feature of this unit.

Requirements

• Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma in Nursing required
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days required
• NIHSS – within 60 days of hire
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
• 1 Year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• Current ICU experience strongly preferred
• National Certification Preparation and Courses offered, as well as test reimbursement/bonus
