About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical Unit with an Oncology Specialty on the Night Shift. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who value compassionate, patient-centered care and want to work in a collaborative environment that supports both professional growth and work-life balance. The Med-Surg/Oncology Specialty Unit is a 12-bed unit that primarily serves medical-surgical patients while also caring for those receiving oncology treatments. This unit offers a well-rounded clinical experience, combining the fast-paced variety of med-surg nursing with the rewarding, relationship-based care of oncology. This team is known for its strong sense of teamwork, excellent leadership, and supportive culture. Nurses on this unit enjoy low patient ratios that allow for focused, quality care, and a fair every third weekend rotation that provides a healthy balance between work and personal time. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
