About The Position

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a per diem Registered Nurse for outpatient infusion services at the Cancer Center in HOPE Tower at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. HOPE Tower provides a patient-centered outpatient care experience informed by current medical advances. The nurse delivers individualized, safe, evidence-based care and works collaboratively with patients, families, nursing colleagues, and other members of the health care team.

Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Willingness to work 10-hour shifts.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.

Ability and passion to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.
BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire a BSN within three years of hire.

Nice To Haves

One year of oncology nursing experience is strongly preferred.
Oncology ambulatory infusion experience preferred.
OCN preferred.
ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy card preferred; must obtain within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing practices based on current evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to provide safe, individualized patient care.
Communicate with patients, nursing colleagues, and other health care team members about patient status, care rendered, and treatment plans.
Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations through ongoing point-of-care electronic documentation.
Provide patient- and family-centered education to support health, wellness, and disease management.
Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning to support safe transitions and continuity of care.
