About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed patient care records, completing assessments and histories in a timely manner, and reviewing LPN assessments per policy. The RN collaborates with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. They may direct and/or supervise direct patient care performed by other nursing staff members and maintain cooperative relationships with physicians, ancillary departments, and administration to ensure quality patient care. The RN administers medications and treatments according to established policies, procedures, and standards of care, providing quality, age-specific care with warmth and compassion. In the absence of a Charge Nurse, the RN may perform supervisory duties such as staff assignments, security rounds, and assisting in patient care areas.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing.
  • Current Georgia RN licensure.
  • Current CPR, ACLS and PALS certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of new trends and techniques in nursing.
  • Kind, courteous, friendly and sincere manner.
  • Tactful, sympathetic and patient.
  • Dependable and accurate.
  • Recognizes importance of setting a good example for others.
  • Interest in learning and professional growth.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months to one-year experience or training; preferred.
  • Charge Nurse Preceptorship required if less than 2 years prior experience as Unit Director, Supervisor or Charge Nurse

Responsibilities
