About The Position

7 West Surgical Oncology is a high-acuity, 24-bed adult inpatient unit specializing in gynecologic and head & neck oncology, as well as benign GYN and ENT patients. The unit also cares for a mix of medical–surgical patients, including respiratory, endocrine, GI, trauma, and behavioral health needs. The team manages chemotherapy, radiation, TPN, tube feedings, and cares for complex head & neck surgical patients with trachs, laryngectomies, and advanced wound needs. They also support patients throughout the palliative and hospice journey. Staff on 7 West develop strong skills with heparin and insulin drips, PCA/epidural pain management, and various surgical drains. New team members receive specialized training with opportunities to pursue oncology, head & neck, med-surg, and palliative care certifications. 7 West offers a supportive, team-focused environment where RNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries can grow their skills and make a meaningful impact to their team and patients.

Requirements

• RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
• A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
