About The Position

Provide Phase I PACU and Phase II recovery care for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics following anesthesia. Experience required with cardiovascular, vascular, plastics, respiratory, neurological, orthopedic, GI, ENT, gynecologic, urologic, thoracic, ophthalmology, neuro/spine, robotic and general surgery cases. Skilled in airway assessment, ventilated patient care, cardiac monitoring, arterial lines, dysrhythmia management, IV vasopressors, emergency medications, pain management, reversal agents, blood products, central lines, IV starts, pre/post-op and procedural care, EKGs, medication reconciliation, discharge education, stroke assessment, malignant hyperthermia protocol, RASS and PCA management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Phase I PACU and Phase II recovery care for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics following anesthesia.
  • Care for patients undergoing cardiovascular, vascular, plastics, respiratory, neurological, orthopedic, GI, ENT, gynecologic, urologic, thoracic, ophthalmology, neuro/spine, robotic and general surgery cases.
  • Perform airway assessment and provide ventilated patient care.
  • Conduct cardiac monitoring and manage arterial lines.
  • Manage dysrhythmias and administer IV vasopressors.
  • Administer emergency medications, pain management, and reversal agents.
  • Administer blood products and manage central lines.
  • Perform IV starts.
  • Provide pre/post-operative and procedural care.
  • Perform EKGs and medication reconciliation.
  • Provide discharge education.
  • Perform stroke assessments.
  • Implement malignant hyperthermia protocol.
  • Manage RASS and PCA.
