About The Position

The Registered Nurse works on the 3W Observation/Medical Stroke Med Surg Unit, a fast-paced, 21-bed unit on the third floor of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. The unit has private rooms, with central monitoring when clinically indicated. Nurses provide care to adult patients with a range of diagnoses, including neurological stroke, infectious disease, other medical conditions, and some cardiac conditions. Patients typically stay from 48 hours to four days. The unit uses an interdisciplinary approach to address patients’ and families’ physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs, and emphasizes clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, patient safety, and positive outcomes. This is a full-time, 12-hour day-shift position with work every third weekend.

Requirements

Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing; BSN or ADN accepted.
BLS provider certification accredited by the American Heart Association, required prior to hire.
Illinois Board of Nursing license, required prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

One year of inpatient nursing experience preferred.
