About The Position

The Registered Nurse-OR position is a full-time role on the first shift within the Surgical Services Department at Baptist Health Lexington. This department includes the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department, and a Sterile Processing Department. The Operating Room Nurse provides care and support to patients before, during, and after surgery, utilizing clinical decision-making, critical thinking, and creativity. The role requires the ability to supervise and delegate tasks to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified individuals.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
