Periop 101 Registered Nurse Residency Program - Fall 2026
About The Position
Stamford Health is offering a Perioperative Residency Program (Periop 101) for experienced Registered Nurses, starting in September 2026. This is a 6-8 month rigorous and blended program that includes online modules from the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and Stamford Hospital Perioperative Services, hands-on skills labs, and clinical practicum. The program combines a standardized, evidence-based online curriculum with textbook readings. All participants will receive a one-year complimentary AORN membership. The Periop 101 course consists of online learning modules, simulation, and direct patient care experiences, designed to build upon basic skills and integrate daily learning into practice. Students will learn to circulate and scrub in the operating room.
