RN, Registered Nurse | Inpatient Behavioral Health
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides inpatient behavioral health care at the Main Campus in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The role cares for adults and adolescents age 13 and older across multiple units, including patients experiencing acute mental health crises. The nurse works with a multidisciplinary team to support crisis stabilization, medication management, and therapeutic interventions, while providing compassionate, trauma-informed, evidence-based care and maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This position is scheduled for 60 hours every two weeks (0.75 FTE), working straight 12-hour night shifts from 1830 to 0700. The schedule includes every third weekend and two holidays per year.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum).
- Active, unencumbered RN license to practice in Wisconsin.
- Current Infant-Adult BLS for Health Care Providers.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- One or more years of RN experience, ideally in mental health.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, trauma-informed, evidence-based care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, NPs, RNs, behavioral health specialists, CNAs, social workers, therapists, clergy, and addiction counselors.
- Support patients with crisis stabilization, medication management, and therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with safety and regulatory standards.
