Relocation assistance for eligible candidates! This position is for a New Advanced Acute Care unit with 32 private rooms. Candidates willing to learn, grow and build a very dynamic new nursing unit are encouraged to apply. The role involves the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. It requires directing and guiding patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel, providing direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies, and completing assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. The nurse will address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care, and formulate, coordinate, and provide a plan of care as established in unit standards. This includes patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team. Evaluation of nursing interventions and revision of the plan of care based on patient response is crucial. Collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members is expected, along with taking action to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs. Assignments are made in collaboration with other team members and directed or altered in response to changes in patient situations. Promoting teamwork by delegating tasks to team members based on skill, expertise, time availability, acuity, and needs of the patient is essential. Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and taking corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment are also key responsibilities. Participation in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice, active participation as a team member working toward team goals, and accountability for unit and system specific metrics are required. Support and participation in initiatives that support the Magnet mission, and active participation in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety are expected.
