About The Position

The Inpatient Surgery Department at Saint Mary’s Hospital is a 23-bed unit specializing in the pre- and post-operative care of patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures. These include, but are not limited to, bariatric, orthopedic, ortho-trauma, neuro-spine, mastectomy, urological, gynecological, and gastrointestinal surgeries. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will deliver direct, hands-on care to patients with complex surgical needs. You will develop and implement individualized care plans focused on promoting recovery and restoring patients to their pre-surgical level of wellness. You will also provide exceptional care and support for patients requiring overnight or extended post-operative stays. The licensed Registered Nurse (RN) plans & provides professional nursing services & standards of practice in accordance with level of experience & education, state board of nursing & established policies & procedures. The RN integrates the art, science, leadership & knowledge of the nursing clinical practice through relationship-centered, compassionate, ethical & respectful direct / indirect healthcare services.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program required.
• Current and valid Connecticut RN license.
• Minimum of 1 year in an acute inpatient setting.
• BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
