About The Position
An exciting opportunity awaits as you start your career on a specialized neurological unit. This is an excellent unit to learn about various neurological diseases while utilizing your nursing and critical thinking skills. Work with our interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment caring for patients with stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain Barre Syndrome and more! Being a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitor Unit in our region, we see many acute and complex patients. As a Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, we work with a specialty team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizures using state-of-the-art continuous video EEG technology. As a nurse on this unit, you will become NIH Stroke Scale trained and certified and will receive continuing stroke education annually. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team that values nurses’ skills, talents, and compassion for our patient population. Our goal is to provide exceptional patient care in an environment that promotes staff satisfaction.
Requirements
- New graduates and experienced nurse’s welcome!
- NIH Stroke Scale trained and certified
- Continuing stroke education annually
Responsibilities
- Functions as a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience.
- Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, continues to build competency in the provision of direct patient care.
- Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
- Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
