About The Position
Adelphi is seeking Registered Nurses to provide nursing care and services at a correctional facility in Lunenburg, Virginia. The role involves assessing patients’ health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. This is a 13-week contract assignment with a clinical coverage type and an 8:00 p.m.–8:30 a.m. shift. The listed rate is $51 per hour, and the start date is ASAP.
Requirements
- Active Virginia nursing license.
- CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions and side effects.
- Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ condition.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
- Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ conditions.
- Comply with state requirements and facility policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the facility.
