About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers coordinated nursing care to an individual patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The role supervises and directs assigned nursing staff at various levels and coordinates care with other disciplines, using critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. This is a full-time, night-shift MedSurg position at Adventist Health Ukiah Valley.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
• CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
• AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS certification.
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification.
• Receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Acute care facility experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect relevant information about patients’ health or situations and analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
• Identify patient outcomes and develop care plans that prescribe interventions to attain those outcomes.
• Implement care plans, coordinate care delivery, promote health and a safe environment, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide safe, healing, humane, and caring patient care.
• Provide learning opportunities and health information to patients, family members, and team members.
• Participate in discharge planning to support continuity of care.
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate the duties of healthcare team members.
• Supervise and direct the activities of assigned nursing staff.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
