About The Position

The Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology provides, promotes, and maintains quality patient care during diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures through education, standards of practice, professional growth, and collaboration with multidisciplinary health care providers. Nights and weekend call are required.

Requirements

Associate degree in Nursing.
One year of experience as a registered nurse.
Valid permanent multi-state RN license from the state in which the candidate resides. An RN licensed in another compact state must apply for and obtain a multi-state RN license from their state of residence within 30 days.
American Heart Association BLS CPR certification, to be obtained within 7 days of hire.
American Heart Association ACLS certification, required within the orientation period.

Nice To Haves

One year of Critical Care or Emergency Department experience.

Responsibilities

Continuously assess patients using physician and psychosocial input, and document assessments in the chart.
Develop and document an education plan on the written care plan, adjusting it as the patient’s condition changes.
Perform patient interventions completely and proficiently, demonstrating age-specific competency for the populations served.
Verify orders for accuracy during hospitalization, including medication reconciliation, appropriate scheduling of tests and procedures, preoperative data, and consent forms.
Follow medication and IV therapy policies, including patient identification, medication education and administration, and recognizing and reporting interactions.
Appropriately monitor first-dose medications.
Interpret diagnostic data and take appropriate action, including notifying physicians of critical laboratory values according to hospital protocol.
Perform related duties as required.
