About The Position
Join our Emergency Services Department as a Registered Nurse (RN) at our Level I Trauma Center, Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, where the RN will provide direct patient care within the scope of practice. With an average of 250 visits per day, this ED includes 49 beds and designated Psych and Fast Track areas. Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, located in the heart of Hillcrest, is the county’s oldest medical center, founded in 1890. Our hospital provides a comprehensive range of services, including 24-hour emergency care, robotic surgery, prenatal services with NICU support, and outpatient rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
- Active California RN license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association
- 1 year of experience in adult emergency services
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate positive behaviors
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
Nice To Haves

- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- CEN – Certified Emergency Nursing
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient care assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes.
- Take primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under their supervision.
- Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
