The Registered Nurse (RN) provides general medical services to program participants under the guidance of the Program Director. This role is tasked with completing nursing assessments, helping to create individual treatment plans, and providing care using established best-practice methods. The RN screens populations from various age groups to determine behavioral health needs and provides referrals to other community partners. They complete and record initial and subsequent nursing assessments of each patient’s physical and mental status, provide structure, and maintain a therapeutic environment. The role also involves providing telehealth/telemedicine services, intervening during emergencies, assisting in developing positive relationships to support participant goals, and participating in collaborative care team meetings. The RN acts as a collaborative team member, leading and addressing comprehensive health promotion and behavioral health maintenance needs, and facilitates preventative and restorative health and well-being education. Additionally, the RN may assist the Regional Director of Accreditation and other WestCare staff as needed, embodying the mission and values of WestCare Foundation.
