About The Position
The Registered Nurse works collaboratively at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care using evidence-based medicine and individualized care. The RN facilitates all aspects of the patient visit experience and supports care that addresses the whole person physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This position serves the Med/Surg Float unit on a full-time day schedule with 12-hour shifts.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in Pennsylvania or a Compact State License.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification, or obtain it by completion of orientation if applicable to the area of practice.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to hospital nursing practice standards and appropriately assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Assist emergent patients and document care using the Emergency Room nursing tool.
- Identify patient needs based on objective data and complete appropriate documentation.
- Implement appropriate nursing actions for identified patient needs.
- Make decisions based on knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
- Discuss planned patient care and expected outcomes with patients and/or their families or significant others, include them in care discussions, and document accordingly.
- Identify and appropriately use a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate patient care.
