This position is for a Registered Nurse working PM/Nights in the LOH Chemical Dependency unit. The role involves performing duties of a professional nurse, including assessing patients, developing and administering care plans, documenting care, and evaluating outcomes. The nurse will also be responsible for creating a safe and therapeutic environment, collaborating with other departments for admissions and transfers, and ensuring thorough communication during patient handoffs. The role requires interaction with patients, families, and healthcare providers to gather data for comprehensive care planning, including medical and psychosocial needs, and anticipated discharge planning. The nurse will participate in the interdisciplinary planning process, assist in developing nursing department goals, and contribute to program evaluation. Additionally, the role involves assisting in staff selection and orientation, demonstrating objective evaluation of feedback, and serving as a role model and resource person for students. The nurse will also explain policies and procedures, utilize community outreach opportunities, work within budgetary constraints, and supervise direct patient care as required.
