Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program
  • Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, to manage multiple priorities and tasks
  • Maintain attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware and software applications
  • Able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement direct care, newborn through geriatric
  • Knowledge of and ability to use basic medical terminology
  • ACLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical outpatient setting

Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
  • Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in dynamic environment.
  • Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures, functions as primary liaison between clinic patients, staff, and providers.
  • Responsible for maintaining all applicable KHI Policies and Procedures.
  • Escorts patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam including vital signs, history, and reason for seeking care.
  • Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charges fees and collect payments due.
  • Schedules/confirms appointments.
  • Reports as necessary to Public Health at direction of provider.
  • Maintains work area including exam rooms, supplies, medication, and immunizations.
  • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens.
  • Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
  • May perform venipuncture.
  • Participates in division meetings.
