About The Position

The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standards of care. He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • BLS required
  • ACLS credentialing within one year of hire
  • Professional nursing experience of one or more years desirable.
  • Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served
  • Specialty unit employees for areas such Endoscopy and the Minor Room
  • Must meet clinical competency standards specific to the assigned patient care area
  • Position requires considerable walking, standing, moderate lifting.
  • Exposed to patient elements and handling of emergencies and critical patient incidents
  • Significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
  • Significant occupational risk
  • May exert up to 50 lbs. force
  • Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.

  • BLS
