About The Position

This position requires the nurse to perform stress test monitoring during testing and assist with other duties as needed for the department. Also, communicate with the supervising physician and assist as needed with other patient care need. The candidate must also be able to triage and assess each patient prior to the stress test. Appropriately assess the need for to alert the referring or covering the cardiologist in regards to the appropriateness of the test prior to proceeding. The candidate must also assess when it is safe for the patient post test to depart from the stress testing laboratory. The RN works in a collaborative environment at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required
  • BSN highly preferred
  • Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania or Compact State License
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • Telemetry Certified

Responsibilities

  • Perform stress test monitoring during testing.
  • Assist with other duties as needed for the department.
  • Communicate with the supervising physician and assist as needed with other patient care needs.
  • Triage and assess each patient prior to the stress test.
  • Assess the need to alert the referring or covering cardiologist regarding the appropriateness of the test prior to proceeding.
  • Assess when it is safe for the patient post-test to depart from the stress testing laboratory.
  • Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Assist the emergent patient and documents accordingly on Emergency Room nursing tool.
  • Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
  • Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
  • Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
  • Discusses with and includes patient and/or family significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
  • Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
