Registered Nurse (RN) - Flexi/PRN - Same Day Surgery
About The Position
Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Flexi/PRN - Registered Nurse for the Same Day Surgery department. This unit, the Same Day Surgery 26 Bay Unit, handles Pre Op and phase two Recovery Care and Post Care for OR, Endo, Cath, and IVR. The unit is open from 5:30 am to approximately 8:00 pm, with no on-call duties, weekends, or holidays. This is a Flexi/PRN position, meaning work is on an as-needed basis. Sentara Obici Hospital is a 175-bed state-of-the-art facility located in Suffolk, VA, specializing in various services including orthopedics, spine, heart and vascular, advanced imaging, breast services, behavioral health, maternity, and weight loss surgery. It is recognized as an accredited Primary Stroke Center and a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence. Requirements
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
- PALS within 1 year of hire.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- 1-2 years of clinical RN experience in acute care nursing (Preferred)
- Procedural, Pre-Post care experience highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Adhere to the standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
- Uphold the standards of professional performance, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
