About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) at RNP plays a critical role in providing high-quality nursing care to clients undergoing treatment for opioid use disorder. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering medications, activating orders and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient recovery and wellness.

Requirements

• RN licensed in the State of Connecticut.
• CPR certified

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in opiate treatment programming, co-occurring programming or similar community-based behavioral health organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer methadone in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
• Monitor clients for side effects and effectiveness of treatment.
• Collaborate with physicians, counselors, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide education to clients when needed regarding methadone treatment, medication adherence, and recovery resources.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, orders and progress in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions as needed, ensuring patient safety.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as clinic policies and procedures related to medication administration and patient care.
• Foster a supportive and respectful environment for clients, promoting dignity and empowerment in their recovery journey.
