About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Department, working from 7 PM to 7:30 AM with alternating weekends. The role involves performing comprehensive patient assessments, developing and prioritizing nursing diagnoses, and providing age-specific care. The nurse will be responsible for revising care plans based on patient responses, administering medications knowledgeably, and performing treatments within the scope of practice.

Requirements

• Current licensed and Registration as a Professional Registered Nurse in New York State
• BCLS/ACLS required
• PALS required
• CHILD ABUSE CERTIFICATION
• STROKE CERTIFICATION + 5 CEU STROKE RELATED COURSES
• MODERATE SEDATION CERTIFICATION

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors preferred
• Basic Arrhythmia course preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and re-assignments as per policy.
• Formulate, prioritize and document nursing diagnosis consistent with the assessment data.
• Perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the patient’s age.
• Revise a plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan for daily effectiveness.
• Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
• Perform treatments and provide services according to scope of practice.
