REGISTERED NURSE - ONCOLOGY CARE UNIT
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Oncology Care Unit at Aspirus Wausau Hospital provides nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, incorporating evidence-based practice. The nurse is accountable for care delivery and contributes to ongoing quality improvement by collecting and analyzing data. The 18-bed Oncology Care Unit cares for patients with a primary cancer diagnosis, including patients receiving oncology and post-surgical care. The unit provides chemotherapy and may also care for medical and surgical overflow patients. The role is full-time or 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period), with 12-hour night shifts, every third weekend, and a holiday rotation.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing.
- Active Wisconsin RN nursing license.
- Current BLS certification, or obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Maintain specialty certification as required by the department’s scope of service.
- Current ACLS, PALS, or NRP certification may be required based on the primary department.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Specialty certification desired.
- Ideally, at least three years of RN experience in a comparable setting.
