About The Position

Chicago Behavioral Hospital is seeking a motivated, dependable, and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional direct care and support to patients. The Registered Nurse assesses, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. This role involves actively engaging in the health care team, offering direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians, and continuously assessing patients' physical and psychological conditions. The position utilizes the nursing process in alignment with the philosophy, objectives, values, mission, and core principles of CBH, upholding a safe therapeutic environment grounded in core values. The RN collaborates as an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, contributing to the development, implementation, and documentation of tailored goals and interventions based on patient strengths and psychiatric challenges.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
Currently licensed to practice by the Illinois State Board of Nursing.
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric facility preferred.
CPR certification and management of aggressive behavior training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure.
Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire.
May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

Bachelor's degree preferred.
