About The Position

The Clinic Registered Nurse in the Cardiology clinic coordinates patient care and supports the care team in delivering high-quality services. The RN assesses patients, identifies health issues, develops personalized care plans, monitors responses, and promotes a safe healthcare experience. The role guides patients to help prevent complications and delays in care. The position is full-time at 100 Hillcrest Medical Blvd, Waco, Texas.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited program.
• Two years of experience.
• A valid Registered Nurse license in Texas.
• Basic Life Support certification; applicants without certification must obtain it within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of nursing values and patient care standards.
• Familiarity with relevant laws, rules, regulations, and certification and accreditation guidelines.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and strategies for health promotion, risk reduction, disease prevention, and disease management.
• Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate, quality care.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize patient needs, plan care, and adjust plans as needed to meet outcomes.
• Support practice changes through research and hands-on learning, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Build relationships with patients and families and help manage emotional and physical pain to promote relief and healing.
• Educate patients, families, staff, and the community about healthcare.
• Partner with colleagues and the community to develop care plans.
• Use available strategies and resources to solve problems for patients, families, and staff with a systems-thinking mindset.
• Assess patient conditions, identify health issues, monitor patient responses, and communicate changes in medical condition.
• Promote a safe healthcare experience and help prevent complications and delays in care.
