About The Position
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room for a Full Time, Day shift position in Charlottesville, VA. This position has required call. Ideal candidates will have completed a PeriOp 101 program and have experience in scrub and circulator roles. This position offers 8- and 10-hour schedules (7am-3pm OR 8am to 5PM) with required call. The call schedule is 1 day per week and one weekend per month from 7P to 7A. Sign on bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates! Sentara Martha Jefferson Main OR: Performing an average of 7,000 cases each year, the Operating Room at SMJH has 8 OR suites and offers a variety of service lines including Complex GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedic surgery. It is also the 2nd highest-performing OR in the Sentara system for Orthopedic total joint procedures. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. For many of our Registered Nurse roles, we welcome new graduate applicants. We're excited to share our starting pay rate for new graduate registered nurses with less than 1 year of experience is $36.00/hour. Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
- PALS within 1 year of hire.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- Scrub and circulator experience in an OR.
- Candidates who have completed a PeriOp 101 program.
- Candidates who have previous Operating Room Experience
