About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking exceptional Registered Nurses to join their dedicated and passionate critical care ICU team in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This role involves providing patient- and family-centered care in a fast-paced, 20-bed Level II Trauma Intensive Care/Critical Care Unit. The unit cares for a variety of high-acuity patients, including those recovering from cardiothoracic surgery, neurovascular interventions, ventilated patients, traumas, continuous renal replacement therapy, and post-cardiac arrest care. The multidisciplinary team includes RNs, Critical Care Technicians, Advanced Practice Nurses, Intensivists, Pharmacists, Respiratory Therapists, Health Unit Coordinators, and support staff. Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in Nursing
  • RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin upon hire
  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year or greater acute care ICU RN experience desired
  • Minimum of 1-year recent Level II or higher, acute ICU RN experience (for sign-on bonus)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize nursing expertise to provide care for a broad range of critical patients in a 20-bed Intensive Care Unit.
  • Provide patient- and family-centered care for a variety of high-acuity patients including post-cardiothoracic surgery, neurovascular interventions, ventilated patients, traumas, continuous renal replacement therapy, post-cardiac arrest care, and more.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of highly skilled RNs, Critical Care Technicians, Advanced Practice Nurses, Intensivists, Pharmacists, Respiratory Therapists, Health Unit Coordinators, and other support staff.
