New Grad RN Observation Unit
About The Position
Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a new graduate Registered Nurse for its 29-bed Observation Unit, which is affiliated with the Emergency Department and cares for patients expected to remain in the hospital for less than 24 hours. The RN provides and is accountable for comprehensive direct nursing care from admission through discharge, serving as an on-shift team member and meeting the needs of patients, families, and coworkers. The unit cares for patients with a range of conditions and procedures, including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, urinary tract infections, and deep vein thromboses. A provider is present on the unit from 7 AM to 5 PM each day.
Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact-state RN license, or be an expected graduate of an approved nursing program.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS for Healthcare Provider certification within 12 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide and be accountable for direct, comprehensive nursing care from patient admission through discharge.
- Function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and coworkers.
