About The Position

The Travel Flex Nurse travels to various locations throughout Bluegrass Care Navigators (BCN) service areas to provide nursing coverage as needed. The role requires cross-training and delivering patient care in multiple settings, including routine home care, inpatient units, and nursing facilities.

The nurse provides skilled, professional nursing care to patients, families, and caregivers as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with State Board of Registered Nursing regulations, patient needs, and BCN policies and procedures. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position offers a $48 per diem for each day worked, in addition to base pay.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Kentucky or a participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
• Minimum of one year of general nursing experience.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and ability to maintain professionalism during emotionally challenging situations.
• Compassionate, respectful approach to caregiving and experience serving diverse populations.
• Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy, including principles of death and dying.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and function effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Flexibility and cooperation to meet patient needs, including availability for a 24/7 operation and travel within defined BCN service regions.
• Willingness to provide care in private homes, nursing facilities, and inpatient units.
• Ability to meet employment requirements, including satisfactory references and compliance with BCN employee health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.
• Licensed driver with an automobile in good working order and insured in accordance with state minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care across routine home care, inpatient units, and nursing facility environments.
