About The Position

Putnam Hospital Center, part of Nuvance Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Maternity department. This role involves assessing the full scope of Birthing Center patient needs using the nursing process, ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees by identifying and correcting hazards, and cooperating with resource distribution to maintain a therapeutic environment. The position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, accountability for nursing practice, and commitment to professional growth. The nurse will demonstrate knowledge and judgment to meet the nursing needs of Birthing Center patients and will play a leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching, and research.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Mandatory completion of Neonatal Resuscitation program within 6 months of hire required.
BLS certification required.
One year experience in labor & delivery required.
