About The Position
Logan Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The PCU offers an opportunity to care for higher-acuity patients requiring close monitoring and specialized treatment, providing a blend of challenge, growth, and teamwork. This dynamic environment allows nurses to develop advanced assessment, telemetry, and critical thinking skills while working closely with an interdisciplinary team. The PCU is a 36-bed unit where nurses care for patients with complex cardiac conditions, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, respiratory illnesses, and those recovering from surgery or advanced cardiovascular procedures. The unit is known for its collaborative culture and strong focus on professional growth, making it an excellent place for nurses who enjoy caring for higher-acuity patients and building expertise in cardiac and progressive care.
Requirements
- Current Montana RN license (or compact license) required
- CPR/BLS certification required
- ACLS & NHISS within 6 months of hire/transfer
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Compassion for geriatric and medically complex residents
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process
- Respond calmly and efficiently to changes in patient conditions
- Implement provider orders and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patients’ physical and mental status
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and resident safety
- Anticipate care needs and coordinate timely interventions
- Collaborate closely with the night shift care team to ensure seamless patient care
