About The Position

Rochester Regional Health is hiring a New Graduate Registered Nurse at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, New York. The role provides an education-oriented environment where new nurses learn alongside experienced professionals and have opportunities to grow across programs and specialties. The schedule is 36 to 40 hours per week, with day/evening and evening/night shifts available based on the unit; every other weekend is included.

Requirements

• Diploma or associate degree in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to meet the role’s moderate clinical physical requirements, including continual movement, standing, walking, lifting 20–50 pounds, pushing and pulling medical equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and fine motor tasks.
• High sensory acuity and the ability to maintain focus, make decisions under pressure, and respond to emergencies.
• The position includes exposure to infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation; TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

Responsibilities

• Promote and restore patients’ health by completing the nursing process.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
• Perform treatment procedures and provide physical, educational, and emotional support to patients, friends, and families.
• Supervise assigned team members.
• Develop and document individualized patient care plans, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed.
• Communicate patient health status, treatment plans, and progress effectively.
• Use the electronic health record proficiently, including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication.
• Follow department and system protocols, applicable local, state, and federal regulations, and education requirements.
