About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join their Progressive Care Unit. This unit specializes in Renal Transplant, Urology, Peritoneal Dialysis, Pulmonary HTN, and more. The hospital is recognized as a Magnet® designated hospital, signifying nursing excellence, and is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Center. The unit, STC 3, is a 35-bed monitored unit caring for a diverse patient population from young adults to geriatrics, including complex urology, pulmonary hypertension, kidney and pancreas transplant, and peritoneal dialysis patients. It is the only unit in the hospital that performs peritoneal dialysis and is equipped with lead-lined rooms for radioactive therapies.

Requirements

Graduate of RN School of Nursing
ADN required; BSN preferred
Active RN License
Minimum of 6 Months of RN experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire or transfer
Grad of an Accredited Program
Specialized field of study should be nursing
Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role

Peritoneal Dialysis management
Epidural management
Continuous Bladder Irrigation management
Nephrostomy and Urostomy care
Complex urinary catheter insertions and care
Suprapubic catheter insertion and care
Ultrasound guided IV insertion
