About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. The Medical 7W unit cares for adult patients with common diagnoses including cellulitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, chest pain, gastrointestinal issues, COPD exacerbations, and medically stable COVID patients. This unit helps build strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, acute medical care, and fast-paced patient management.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
BSN preferred
Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
