Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer (department may require sooner).

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform comprehensive data collection, analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate progress.
  • Coordinates care delivery.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Consults to influence the care plan, enhance abilities of others, and effect change.
  • Follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010), including enhancing practice quality and effectiveness, attaining knowledge and competency, evaluating practice, interacting with and contributing to professional development of peers, collaborating with patients and families, integrating ethical provisions and research findings, considering safety and cost-effectiveness, providing leadership, and practicing in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
  • Supports the purpose, vision, and values of Monument Health.
  • Practices within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse and delivers competent care consistent with standards, policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Abides by the Provisions of the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).
  • Proficiently uses applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care, and access work-related applications.
  • Continuously seeks opportunities to improve the quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem-solving.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
