About The Position
UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem, REGISTERED NURSE in the OPERATING ROOM DEPARTMENT. This role involves circulating and scrubbing a variety of surgical cases. As a registered nurse (RN), you can be a part of this highly skilled team, working within a culture that is collaborative. Here, you will work in tandem with physicians and other health care practitioners to provide superior, nursing care.
Requirements
- BLS and minimum of 2 years current general OR nursing experience with circulating in a variety of clinical settings required.
- Current unrestricted WA license or valid Multistate license
- One year of Operating Room nursing experience
- Scrub and or Circulate experience
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Nice To Haves
- Scrub experience is desired but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative care for surgical patients, a role that includes preparing the surgical site and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during operations by providing instruments and managing patient needs, and monitoring patient recovery.
- Act as a patient advocate, maintain a sterile environment, coordinate with the healthcare team, and provide patient education for recovery.
