About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This Operating Room setting (OR) has a total of 10 orthopedic focused operating suites, with an additional 2 ORs that have a focus on Eye procedures. Will work alongside the numerous team members including CRNAs, APPs, RNs, STs and surgeons to assist in invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures to ensure that the operating room environment is safe. Standard operating hours for this location are Monday-Friday from 0630-1700. This position includes late shifts and rotating off-site call. Call shifts will be for Orthopedic trauma for after hour cases at the level 1 Trauma Center, Sanford Medical Center Fargo. This is considered as off-site call, where you do not stay in the hospital but need to be available within 30 minutes of being contacted for an Orthopedic Trauma. This role includes a rotating weekday and weekend call schedule. Currently, this works out to about two weekday call shifts per month, three - four weekends of call per year, and one holiday shift annually (though this may change over time). One of the great perks of working at this campus is our post-call shift. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.
Cares for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move along the continuum of care.
Responsible for the planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
Functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure.
