Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities.
  • Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform comprehensive data collection, analyze assessment data to determine diagnosis, identify expected outcomes, develop a plan of care, implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, employ strategies for health teaching and promotion, provide consultation, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
  • Follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010), including enhancing nursing practice quality and effectiveness, attaining knowledge and competency, evaluating practice against standards, interacting with and contributing to the professional development of peers, collaborating with patients and families, integrating ethical provisions, integrating research findings, considering safety and cost-effectiveness, providing leadership, and practicing in an environmentally safe manner.
  • Supports the purpose, vision, and values of Monument Health.
  • Practices within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined by the state and delivers competent care consistent with standards, policies, laws, regulators, and accrediting/certifying organizations.
  • Abides by the Provisions of the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).
  • Proficiently uses applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care, and to access work-related applications.
  • Continuously seeks opportunities to improve the quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem-solving.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
