About The Position

Health First Careers is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Orthopedics department. As a Registered Nurse in our Med Surg / Orthopedics unit, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions. This is a per diem position, offering flexible scheduling options to fit your lifestyle.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Med Surg or Orthopedics nursing
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
  • BSN required.
  • Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement.
  • Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
  • Certification(s) as required by specific unit.
  • Must meet unit specific care requirements.
  • Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
  • BSN degree or higher preferred
  • Orthopedic certification (ONC) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient's condition
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatments, and self-care techniques
  • Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve nursing skills and knowledge
