About The Position

This PRN Registered Nurse (RN) position is within the Neuro Rehabilitation Residential Program in Brewer & Rockland, Maine. It offers a flexible schedule and focuses on clinical oversight, medication review, and consultation rather than traditional bedside nursing. The role supports individuals living with brain injuries, neurological conditions, and other complex needs in home-like residential settings. It is ideal for an experienced RN looking to supplement their current schedule or stay connected to patient care in a flexible capacity.

Requirements

  • Holds an active Registered Nurse license in Maine
  • Is comfortable working independently and providing clinical guidance to residential staff
  • Has strong assessment, medication management, and communication skills
  • Enjoys a consultative and oversight-focused nursing role
  • Is comfortable traveling occasionally between Brewer and Rockland
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in nursing or related health and human services field from an accredited college or university OR an RN from an accredited two-year program
  • Valid driver's license and insurance required

  • Experience with neurological rehabilitation, residential care, behavioral health, long-term care, home health, or individuals with complex medical needs

Responsibilities

  • Completing monthly and quarterly medication reviews and nursing oversight
  • Reviewing medication records and helping ensure appropriate medication management practices
  • Providing nursing guidance and answering clinical or medical questions from residential staff
  • Completing PRN visits when medical concerns or changes in condition arise
  • Collaborating with program leadership, direct care staff, providers, and other members of the care team
  • Helping identify health concerns and determine when additional medical evaluation or follow-up may be needed
  • Supporting staff education and reinforcing safe clinical practices
  • Maintaining required nursing documentation and regulatory standards
  • Deliver exceptional patient care, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compassion
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and positive outcomes
  • Educate patients and their families on health management and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with established protocols and regulations
