Registered Nurse (RN)- New Graduate- Burn Unit
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Burn Unit plays a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This role utilizes evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. The 10NT Burns and Plastics unit is a 24-bed multi-leveled unit, also known as the Burn Center, which is an all-inclusive comprehensive unit for all levels of burn patients, including pediatrics and adults. The unit has 16 Med-surg level beds and 8 ICU level beds. In addition to burn patients, the unit sees a variety of other surgical patients such as Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Urology. As one of two Burn Centers in North Carolina, it is recognized by the American Burn Association (ABA) as a verified burn center, offering state-of-the-art care, training, and resources to treat all levels of burns. Nurses on this unit will learn different types of wound care, including dressing, skin grafting and maintenance, negative pressure wound vac applications, and other wound care processes.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire
Responsibilities
